Welcome to Exinet Academy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website (exinetacademy.com) and our mobile app, Exinet Academy, available on Google Play.

By using our Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

a. Website account information: If you create an account or sign in on our website (including via “Continue with Google”), we collect your name and email address. The mobile app does not have a login or account system — you can use all app features (browsing, downloading, reading, and watching content) without providing any personal information.

b. Usage information: We automatically collect standard technical information such as IP address, device type, operating system, and app version, both on our website and within the app.

c. Advertising identifiers: Our app displays ads through Google AdMob and, occasionally, ads we manage ourselves (“Exinet Ads”). AdMob may collect your device’s advertising ID and general, approximate location (derived from IP address) to serve and measure ads. See Section 6 below for how this works differently for children.

d. Push notification tokens: If you allow notifications, our app registers a device token with Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service) so we can send you alerts about new resources. This token identifies your device, not you personally.

e. Locally stored data: Some information — such as downloaded PDF files, your daily download count, and app preferences (like dark mode or font size) — is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us.

f. Cookies (website only): Our website uses cookies to improve your browsing experience. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

a. Providing the Service: To deliver past papers, articles, tutorials, and related educational content, and to keep the app and website working correctly.

b. Advertising: To display ads that help keep Exinet Academy free, through Google AdMob and our own Exinet Ads system.

c. Notifications: To alert you when new resources are published, if you’ve allowed notifications.

d. Communication (website only): If you provide your email via the website, we may send updates or newsletters, which you can opt out of at any time.

3. Information Sharing

a. Google services: We use Google AdMob (advertising) and Google Firebase (push notifications). These services may process device and usage data under Google’s own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

b. Third-party service providers: We may share information with providers who help us operate the Service, under confidentiality obligations.

c. Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices

a. You can turn off notifications at any time in your device settings.

b. You can limit ad personalization through your device’s ad settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

c. If you created a website account, you can update or delete it via your account settings, or by contacting us.

6. Children’s Privacy

Exinet Academy is an educational resource used by students across Primary, O-Level, A-Level, and University levels — this means some of our users are children under 13. We take this seriously:

  • We do not require any account, login, or personal information to use the app.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children beyond the technical/device data described above.
  • Ads shown to users are limited to non-personalized advertising, in line with Google’s requirements for child-directed treatment under AdMob.
