Why UACE Past Papers 2026 Matter So Much
UACE past papers do more than test what you know. When you practise with them, you:
- Learn the question style. UNEB repeats question types and command words such as “explain”, “account for” and “assess”. The more papers you do, the less any question surprises you.
- Find your weak topics. Marking yourself with a scoring guide shows exactly which topics cost you marks.
- Build exam speed. Many UACE papers are 3 hours long. Timed practice teaches you how long to spend on each question.
- Reduce exam anxiety. UNEB itself advises candidates to approach the exam without panic. Familiar papers make the real exam feel like another practice session.
Because 2026 UACE papers follow the new A-Level format, start with the 2026 UNEB sample papers to learn the new structure. Then use the 2024 UACE past papers and 2026 mocks for extra practice on content.

How to Use UACE Past Papers 2026 the Right Way
Downloading UACE past papers is the easy part. These steps help you get real marks from them:
- Revise the topic first. Use your notes and the NCDC syllabus books to cover the topic before attempting questions on it.
- Time yourself. Sit somewhere quiet and do the full paper in the official time, for example 3 hours for Principal Mathematics Paper 1.
- Mark with the scoring guide. Compare your answers with the UNEB scoring guide, not just with a friend’s answers. Note the key points examiners reward.
- Keep an error list. Write down every mistake and the correct method, and read the list again before the exam.
- Redo weak questions. After a few days, attempt the questions you got wrong again without looking at the answers.
- Revise in timetable order. Give priority to the papers that come first on the UACE timetable 2026.
A Simple UACE Revision Plan for the Final Weeks
With only days left before the first paper, this plan helps you use UACE past papers 2026 well:
- Now to 8th November: Focus on your first-week papers (History, Principal Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry Practical, Physics Theory, IRE/CRE and Geography). Do at least one full past paper per subject.
- Evenings during the exams: After each paper, rest briefly, then do one timed past paper section for the next paper on your timetable. Don’t stay up all night.
- Gap days (like 17th Nov and the afternoons with no papers): Use these for practicals and longer papers such as Biology and Chemistry theory.
- Final week (30th Nov to 2nd Dec): Science candidates should review practical past papers for Chemistry, Biology and Physics Paper 3.
