UCE Mock Papers with Marking Guides

Mock examinations set by regional and national examination bureaus follow the UNEB format closely. They are excellent extra practice once you have done the official UCE past papers.

What Are UCE Marking Guides and Scoring Guides?

A marking guide shows the answers and points an examiner expects for each question. Under the new lower secondary curriculum, UNEB uses scoring guides. Instead of a simple answer list, a scoring guide describes the evidence a learner must show and how scores are given for each part of an item. Practising with UCE past papers and their scoring guides teaches you exactly what earns marks.

How to Revise With UCE Past Papers

  1. Know the format first. Study the 2026 UCE sample papers so you understand the current item style before attempting older papers.
  2. Revise a topic, then test it. Read your notes on a topic, then answer the matching questions from UCE past papers.
  3. Do full papers under time. Sit somewhere quiet and attempt the whole paper in the official time.
  4. Mark yourself honestly. Use the marking or scoring guide and write down where you lost marks.
  5. Repeat weak areas. Go back to the topics you got wrong and try similar questions from another year or a mock.
